Yeah, that's right. I stepped up! She's my friend and she needed help. And if I have to I'd pee on any one of you.
Okay who doesn't know the famous tv show "Friends"? Well if you haven't seen it yet, you missed a looot. This show got me through depression, loneliness and a lot of bad things happened to me. I cannot say I have a favourite character in this series but everytime one of them becomes my favourite like right now Joey is my sprit animal.
So in this blog I'll be listing 5 life lessons Friends taught me, well it did teach me maaany but let's just begin with these 5 and I'll definitly be doing part 2 and 3.
1-NEVER BE AFRAID OF CHANGE :
As we all know Rachel ran away from her wedding and came straight to Monica, she had no one to go to, a shoulder to cry on, or even someone to listen ...
But luckily, Monica was there for her, and she took her as her new roomate. Rachel had it all, the money, the doctor husband, cool friends... everything. But she realized she wanted more for herself. She was ready to change herself for the better, to improve and to grow up. At first, she was scared but then she realized it's good to change to become someone mature who doesn't need her daddy to pay for her bills.
2-NO TO SEXISM! :
In season one episode "The one with the poker", we notice that the guys never played with the girls poker; LIKE NEVER! And the girls asked why, the response was really stupid "Girls don't know how to play". Like since when women can't play poker? Women can do anything, they can drive, they can vote, they are capable of doing anything they want. Not because men are powerful, they are better because we stand for equality. MEN=WOMEN
3-IT'S OKAY TO NOT HAVE A PLAN:
Phoebe: I remember the day I got my first paycheck, there was a cave-in in one of the mines.
Chandler: Phoebe, you worked in a mine?
Phoebe: No I worked in a Dairy Queen.
Chandler: Phoebe, you worked in a mine?
Phoebe: No I worked in a Dairy Queen.
Alright I know that I've been talking nonstop about season one, but I can't help it if it taught me many life lessons. So in this episode Rachel got her first paycheck, working in the coffee house. But surprisingly her friends visit her there and try to impress her with their achievments. While she looked at herself in the apron. A great lesson to learn from this episode is that people will try to put you down, and judge you maybe even talk behind your back. However, when life let you down and all the doors close at your face and you hit rock bottom it's totally fine.
At these ruff moments, you'll know who your real friends are, it's okay to not have a plan have a slumber party with your girls and order a fat free pizza with extra cheeeeese!!!
4-Don't be Judgmental:
Chandler : So I have a flaw big deal!
_Chandler Bing (Matthew Perry) , Friends, Season 1; The one with the thumb
So in this episode Chandler started to smoke again after he quit 6 years ago, but the guys seem to disagree with him and they refuse his decision and covince him to quit instead. But what attracts me the most to this episode is that not only chandler has a flaw, everyone does.
- Joey's nuckkle cracking isn't annoying?- Ross with his over pronousing every single word .- Monica with that snor when she laughs .
Chandler mentions his friends' flaws, I mean who doesn't have any? And we must love ourselves and others the way they are. Also, we must acknowledge the fact that it's hard to find friends these days , and it's even harder to loose them for such judgmental thoughts. Anyway, you have to accept your friends or even the people that you care about the way they are, and if you are a friend of someone is because you love every little detail about them.
5- Age is just a number :
In this episode, Rachel is turning 30, so her freinds threw a surprise party for her, but she gets mad. She got mad because she's thirty with no serious relationship or kids. However, her other friends didn't have that much fun turning thirty , some of them tried to do something crazy like buying a sports car like Ross, or makes things up with a sibling like Phoebe. Rachel wanted her life to be planned out, having a good career, marrying a rich husband, and of course having at least a child.
All I wanna say , is that Rachel should have realized that turning thirty is very normal, and age is just a number , and it is totally fine to not have everything planned you just have to wait for the pieces to fall into place.
So this was it for the blog today I hope you enjoy reading it, and for those who don't like friends it's totally fine but you have to give it a shot a least. :)
