Hello beautiful people, I hope you're having a great day and staying safe! A new festive themed blog, related to movies as always! Even though I don't celebrate Christmas, I still enjoy the movies! They're quiet enjoyable and heart-warming. Here's a list of some of my favourite Christmas movies!

Christmas Vintage Songs Playlist

1) Home alone (1990):

I believe that this movie speaks for itself as the classic christmas movie that should be on every list! The story follows an eight-year old troublemaker who must protect his house from a pair of burglars when he is accidentally left home alone by his family during Christmas Vacation. 

What makes this film even better is the supporting cast by Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern who gave a wonderful performance, comdey and laughter along the way until the end of the movie. 

The song "Rocking around the Chritsmas Tree" by Brenda Lee gets stuck in your head for the entire movie and after you finish it too. I believe that Home Alone is a classic and you must watch it! It's hilarious, emotional and light.

2) Four Christmases (2008):

Down to my ultimate favourite holiday movie, it never fails to make me laugh and nostalgic. The story follows a couple who decide to ditch ther families for Christmas and go vacay in Fiji. 

Little did they know, their flight gets cancelled for some reason and they end up visting their families and spend the holidays with them. Brad played by "Vince Vaughn" is hilarious in the role, he manages to maintain his funny side thoughout the film, even if he gets into trouble or embarrased by his family. He dicovers a side he never saw in his girlfriend Kate played by "Reese Witherspoon", who also delivers a great performance in the movie.

I recommend this movie and trust me it never fails to make you laugh.

3) The Holiday (2006):

When I first saw this movie I didn't like it that much but then I decided to give it another chance and I fell in love with it. The story is about two different women who suffer frrom guy-problems, they swap homes in each other's countries, where they meet a local guy and fall in love. 

The acting is strong and well handled, the chemistry betwenn "Cameron Diaz" and "Jude Law" is amazing and Graham's secret was a good twist. What I wish was a bit diffrent is the casting of "Jack Black" as "Kate Winslet" love affair. I felt like any other actor better looking than him would have been perfect. This movie is not your basic rom-com because it's way better, it's warm and has a good story and my mom loved this movie a lot!

I recommend this movie, for a girl's night movie or even you and your sibling's movie night!

4) Elf (2003) :

I recently watched this movie, and it's the best thing I ever did! The story is about an elf raised at the North Pole who finds out he is human, decides to travel to NYC to find his real father. I bet you would say that the story is pretty normal, and not that interesting. 

To that I say, you could be wrong because the director Jhon Favreau 's handling on "Elf" is incrediblly nimble, treating Will Ferrell and his naive character "Buddy" with the utmost respect ; you can laugh at the silliest jokes without feeling guilty . Favreau's work is smooth, and he's assembled an incredible cast to back his star and had done wonders.

 This a heart-warming film that I recommend so much, and believe you only need popcorn and some tissues.

5) Love Actually (2003):

This big cast movie needs no introduction as the classic feel good British christmas film. The story follows the lives of eight different couples in dealing with their love lives in various lossely interrelated tales all set during a frantic month before Christmas in London, England. There are some elements that I loved;  "Sarah" 's love story, it was very touching and realistic and I kind of felt sad for her and how she ended up all by herself. 

This movie had some toxic love interests as well for example the obsessive stalker "Mark" who's crazy in love with his bestfriend's wife "Julie"! I mean he acts weird around her, he avoids her at all costs and still films her on her wedding day and confesses his love in front of her own damn house! There are limits here, and I consider him a psycho who's way far to be called a romantic!

I recommend this movie, as a holiday must-watch! 

Get your hot chocolate and blanket ready, and prepare for a long Christmas movie marathon! Happy Holiday you filthy animals!

Movie Recommendation! Revisit the Classics

Hello beautiful people, I hope you're having a great day. I finally found the time to write a new blog, well I wanted to upload it earlier but things got in the way.

So, this list is a selection of old classic Hollywood movies, that I think everyone should see and enjoy.

Fatal Attraction (1987):

I heard abou this movie a lot, especially in comedy movies who talk about cheating. I've never seen this movie before, and I when I did it blew me away the story is about a married man's affair that comes back to hunt him. She starts to stalk him, threaten him and hurt his family.

Now, the villain "Alex Forrest" played by the actress Glenn Close oustanted her role. We see her at the beginning of the movie as a sexy cool woman but then as the movie goes on we start to see a change in her personnality as she shows us how obsessed she becomes over this fling with this married man. She screams and tries to kill herself, and even had the nerve to kidnap his daughter. I mean if this is not crazy I don't what is! The movie teaches a lot of married people that chaeting comes with consequences.

I recommend watching this movie a lot but please do not see it with your partner!

Misery (1990):

Hands down to one of the creepiest adaptation of Stephen King's books ever! Misery is a story that follows a famous author whos rescued from a car crash by a fan of his novels, he comes to realize that the care he is recieving is only the beguinning of a nightmare of captivity and abuse.

In the first half of the movie, everything looks okay and the protagonist "Annie Wilkes" played by Kathy Bates looks like a very  and caring woman who's taking care of this author. But then, we start to see red flags; The way she talks about his novel collection Misery to the pills she gives him everyday to keep him asleep. Of course she's an insane number one fan of his, who got lucky to keep her favourite author trapped with her! The way she portrayed the crazy woman character is insane, I was at the edge of my seat, screaming afraid of what else she will do to him!

I recommend this movie a loooot! But don't make my mistake and watch at night!

Kramer Vs Kramer (1979):

I loved this movie so much and believe that it really deserves all the hype around it, it's funny it's sad and mostly touching. So the story follows Ted Kramer's wife who leaves him, allowing for a lost bond to be rediscovered between Ted and his son, Billy. But a heated custody battle ensues over the divorced couple's son, deepening the wounds left by the separation.

Dustin Huffman as "Ted Kramer" makes you feel sypmathy towards him from the beguinning of the movie till it's ending. Eeven if he made mistakes in the past, and wasn't responsible he's changed now and became a good dad. And you have no idea, how much I hated Meryl Streep as "Joanna Kramer" like I know how every woman wants to find herself and be independent but not at the expanse of her family and especially her child. I felt sorry for this child, as he was a victim of his mother's selfishness who disappeared for months. 

Kramer Vs Kramer is a terrific drama that is worth watching!

As Good As It Gets (1997):

Of course I heard about this movie, especially after I saw all the oscars it got. At first I wasn't expecting anything from it but then I fell in love with the story. It's about a single mom who works as a waitress, a misanthrophic athor and a gay artist from an unlikely friendship after the artist is assaulted at a robbery. 

Okay so, the character "Melvin Udall" played by the one and only Jack Nickolson suffers from OCD, he's rude and mean and hated by everyone. But as the movie goes on, we discover that he has a good side behind all of his flaws. He cares for this woman he meets "Carol Conelly" played by "Helen Hunt" who changes him and turnes him into a good man.

I recommend this movie so much, it's funny and very emotional! And it's so worth the hype

I Am Sam (2001):

So I came down to the final recommendation in this list and I left the best for the last. I Am Sam is a masterpiece, a rollercoaster of feelings and emotions. The story is about a mentally handicaepd man who fights for custody of his 7 year old daughter, and in the process he teaches his cold-hearted lawyer the value of love and family. 

"Sam Dawson" played by Sean Penn is a very affectionate father and would fight the world for his daughter. The actor pulls off the role amazingly as we interact with Sam at every scene in the movie. His lawyer "Rita" played by Michelle Pfeiffer" was able to change from a cold person and a workaholic, to a sweet and caring person.

I recommend this movie a lot, and I warn you to prepare your tissues because there is going to be a lot of tears!

Coffee Date

It was a rainy day in New York,

I wake up in the morning, late as always, go to the bathroom wash up and do my bed. I sit on my couch and think...what will I do today?

 I looked up at the window and it was raining so I thought I'd rather stay home. But what if I go out, experience a day in Rainy NYC, it's a one time lifechance, to run to go to catch the subway ruin your hair with the rain and bump into a coffee shop you never knew before.

Maybe destiny led me into it, but the further I looked into it the more comfort I felt towards it. It reminded me of the bookshop that Meg Ryan owns in You've Got Mail, maybe the weather made it look even antique, the books even warmer. The coffee smell coming from it gave me goosebumps, I didn't know which coffee it was but I wanted to try it.

The minute I set foot into the coffee shop, I knew this isn't going to be my last visit... 

The sound of the piano played in the background matched the atmosphere perfectly, I sat near a big window where I can see the rain drops easily, people passing by and the amazing view of the city. 

My coffee arrived as was warm as it can be, I hold the mug with my both hands to feel it more, I take a sip and I go to another world all by myself...

As delighted as I was sipping my coffee soon to be interrupted by an inpleasant noise, I turned my head to see and there he was; wet as he can be and poor thing was he mesirable!

I followed him with my eyes, his outfit tend to be of a banker as a profession but his hands tell he's a writer. His hair tells me he's careless about things, but his suitcase speaks high-maintanence from the colour to the shape. 

He ordered a cold brew, and in this weather looks like he's struggling in his life, I wonder from what or whom, maybe his boss yelled at him from handing his work pass the deadline, or he had an argument with his girlfriend. 

Of course he's taken; a descent looking guy, with a respectful job and propably a horrible taste in coffeee would be taken.

Dear oh dear, he realized that I stared for too long. I turned my head away, hoping he wouldn't notice, but little did I know...

" Excuse me, don't you think it's rude to stare at people you don't know"

"I'm sorry I didn't mean it"

"It's okay, I had a very long hard day"

"Maybe your day can still pick up, you never know..."

He never said anything, and went back to his place. I can feel saddness in his eyes, I wanted to get to know him but he chose to be distant.

 I tried to forget what just happened, through the window; when rain is still pouring and making the sky of New York city sadder than ever...

Interruped again by a voice, thought it was the waiter to fill up my cup of coffee, but no he brought a french hot pastry out of the oven and said

" This is from the man sitting there"

"Thank you, but I can't accept it"

The waiter returned it, and said something to him. Not even a minute has passed, and I see that pastry again...

"I'm sorry for earlier, I had a ruff day and this pastry is really good and I think you should try it"

"If you insist"

"Do you mind if I sit here? I love to sit by the window and watch it rain"

"Sure"

I looked at him bringing his coffee to my table, he took a deep breath

"I think New York becomes sad when it rains" His eyes were filled of sadness"

"I believe that New York is still New York even if it rains, it depends on how people see it"

"Indeed"

"Sorry but I couldn't help but notice why did you order a cold brew on a cold day like this?"

"Because I don't want the weather to effect my coffee choices"

" That's an answer to think about"

"I have noticed that you smelled your coffee before drinking it, isn't that weirder than my cold brew?"

I tried to hide my laugh, but I coudn't... I saw him smiling too 

"I guess we're both coffee weirdos"

And then I woke up, man it was such a beautiful dream...
