Overrated Movies? My Thoughts

Lately, I forced myself to watch really hyped up movies. Movies that everyone talks about, movies that are really successfull at the box office

Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (2017):

I've been hearing about this film since its release in theaters, and seen many people either loving or hating. Too bad I didn't watch it in 2017, but I convinced myslef that I have to get out of my comfort zone and see it and believe me I didn't even watch the trailer. The film talks about four teenages sucked into a magical video game, and the only way they can escape is to work together to finish the game.

What I liked about this film is that it's not your typical adventurous film,  it's hilarious and very unique! I loved Jack Black as Bethany, he cracks me up in every scene, he stood out in the film and I had a crush on Karen Gillen and her character Martha! The adventure was fun and creative and kept me on the edge of my seat wanting them the escape the game.

For me this movie deserves the hype! And it should be appreciated the way it is and I really enjoyed its sequel too.

Kill Bill Vol.1 (2003):

Okay okay, I think Iam the only person in this entire world who hasn't seen Kill Bill yet. It's just when people talk a lot about a particular movie, I immediatly avoid seeing it. But here, we're talking about a Tarantino film, and I love him as a director and I already watched Pulp Fiction, Django and Unglorious Bastards and I have huge expectations before I watch any movie of his.

So the story is about a former assassin who wakes up from a four-year coma, wreaks vengeanceon the team of assassins who betrayed her. And let me tell you something, this movie glorifies Japanese and Chinese cultures in every scene, from the fights to the quotes, life lessons and the story. I have to mention the incredible shots in this film, along side the vintage vibes that we get from the soundracks to the diologues and even the flashbacks.

I have to admit, that Uma Thurman as the Bride was the perfect casting in my opinion and she potrays the revenge Bride in a magnificent way, and I promise you'll become obsessed with her as much as I have become. For me, she managed to keep me on the edge of my seat whenever she becomes close to meeting Bill.

In my very humble opinion, this movie does deserve the recognition it has I mean that's the least I can say about it as I enjoyed every minute of it.

The Matrix (1999):

Okay don't judge me now, I know I'm the only person who hasn't seen The Matrix yet! Believe me I chose not to see it because I thought it's overrated! Everyone loves the Matrix and believes that it's the best in its genre and man  was I wrong about it.

So the story is about a beautiful stranger leads computer hacker Neo to a forbidding underworld, he discovers the shocking truth--the life he knows is the elaborate deception of an evil cyber-intelligence.

In my opinion to see such an innovative movie with such a brilliantly executed idea and in 1999! Like nothing can top this, from the outfits to the story to the martial arts everything was done eprfectly.

Indeed, The Matrix truly changed the cinematic universe and made it easier for other sci-fi films.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spottless mind :

I don't know how to begin to explain this movie, so the story is about a couple and their relationship turning sour, undergoes a medical procedure to have each other erased from their memories.

I loved both of Jim Carry and Kate Winslet's acting performances and cannot deny that they both did great, it's just I've heard a lot of positive reviews abouth this film and I it was a big slap in the face.

I can't describe how dissappointed I was the minute I finished it, the story was very orginal indeed but I couldn't keep up with it and don't get me started on the characters development it was a mess like a big huge mess.

In the middle of the movie, I started to get really bored and was waiting for it to finish so I can erase it out of my head. It's so overrated and if you want to waste your time just watch this film.

Okay so that was it for the blog, and don't worry I will make this as a series as it became fun for me to watch overrated movies and I'll try to post it every week.
